All For The Tigers....

I dedicate this my site to the tiger's and to all the foundation's that are fighting so hard to save these gorgeous creatures from extinction. They have been hunted by poachers for their beautiful furs and habitats destroyed due to economic growth.Siberian tigers are the heaviest subspecies at 500 or more pounds (225 kg), with males heavier than females. The lightest subspecies is the Sumatran; males weigh about 250 pounds (110 kg) and females around 200 pounds (90 kg). Depending on the subspecies, the head-body length of a tiger is about 41/2 to 9 feet (1.4-2.8 m). The length of the tail is 3 to 4 feet (90-120 cm). Typically, wild tigers gorge themselves on fresh kills, and can eat as much as 40 pounds (18 kg) of meat at one time. Several days may pass before they are hungry enough to hunt again

Tiger Information....
It is estimated that in the beginning of the 20th century, over a hundred thousand tigers roamed throughout most of Asia, from the shores of the Caspian sea to far-eastern Siberia and down through the Indonesian islands to Bali. Currently, total numbers for tigers in the wild range as low as 5,000 to a maximum of 7,000. They say that up to 1,000 tigers per year are being killed by poachers although it is difficult to accurately account for numbers in this illegal trade. However, at any rate of extermination, tigers are heading toward extinction fast. We must do what we can to save what is left of these beautiful creatures and preserve their habitats.

Reports and records indicate however, that a few wild tigers have been seen in unusual colors, including all white and all black coloring. Tigers are the biggest cats in the world. They live in steamy hot jungles as well as icy cold forests. There are five different kinds or subspecies of tiger alive in the world today. These tigers are called Siberian, South China, Indochinese, Bengal, and Sumatran. Their Latin name is Panthera tigris. Tigers are an endangered species; only about 5,000 to 7,400 tigers are left in the wild. Three tiger subspecies, the Bali, Javan, and Caspian tigers have become extinct in the past 70 years.
